If you haven't already, check out the New York blog Advanced Style. It is on the leading edge of showing how fashion is shifting from being a youth obsessed industry to one which recognises that women of all ages are interested in fashion and having a strong personal style. The ladies in this clip are amazing and show how you can pull off a completely batty style with utter panache.
For a while now I have thought that it is the age 35 plus woman which is leading in the style stakes. At this age you start to know what you like and what suits you and have a bit more money to indulge yourself. Sadly these days, great swathes of our youth seem to be taken up with either the fake glamour style or the 'ugly as beauty' vibe of hipsterdom. Both are fine but a bit more individuality would be nice.
There have been rumours circulating for a while now that there will be a full length Advanced Style documentary, please let them be true.
